Monet Jewelry was founded by Michael and Jay Chernow on 1927. The company initially manufactured gold toned metal monogram plaques in beautiful art deco designs for women's handbags and purses and they soon became one of the most famous costume jewelry brand in U.S.A.

Costume jewelry business was opened nearly after only two years since the company was established. The company manufactured very high quality costume jewelry pieces by using the same gold plating techniques.

The name Monet was started to use after the Chernow brothers changed the company's name.

Company changed ownership several times however never lost its quality.
